Women's Nightwear- Sleepwear, Pyjamas, Nightgown

I adore nightwear of all kinds. I guess you could say I have a love affair of sorts with sleepwear, pyjamas, nightgowns. From the sexy to the comfortable, I often myself shopping for nightwear or giving them as gifts to my friends. Of course, I have to choose which sleepwear fits their personality. Some people have a particular liking for lingerie, lace or silky nightwear. Like me, I am partial to this type of sleepwear and well, it's enough for you to know that it makes me feel sexy. And that makes me feel good. I like feeling good!  So there... Some people also are fond of cotton and comfortable sleepwear.  I have those in my wardrobe too.  Who says cotton is not sexy? It can be you know.

Whatever it is that you prefer is great. You see it is a matter of preference and choice. The best thing is to experiment too. The rule of thumb is go whatever it is that you feel comfortable with and that in turn makes ou feel sexy and feel good. 

A babydoll is a nightgown or a negligee--short, sometimes sleeveless, could have cups or bralette for cleavage, with lace or ruffles or spaghetti straps. It is made of sheer fabric like chiffon, silk or nylon.

In these modern times, it is often classified as a lingerie, definitely sexy and an eroticized item for adults. Why sexy? Of course, the woman's legs are fully exposed and some styles deliberately expose the cleavage or the breasts as well. Some of these babydolls are short enough that the underwear can be seen if worn.

This type of lingerie is really sexy.  Would you be comfortable wearing them?  A friend of mine who looks very tough on the outside told me once that all her sleepwear are made of lace and silk.  Her sharing made me smile.  You really can't judge  a woman by appearances. What's cool is that her husband loves this side of her!

In French, Chemise means shirt. The word normally means an undergarment worn to protect the clothing from sweat or oils. But if it is referred to as a sleepwear, it is a delicate, usually provocative, loose-fitting, sleeveless, shirt-like lingerie, somewhat similar to babydoll. But some of these are tighter at the hips.

Many designs have come out in different variations. You see many of these designs below.

Negligee on the other hand is a loose, sensuous nightwear for women. It was first introduced in France in the 18th-century, where it mimicked the heavy head-to-toe style of women's day dresses of the time. In modern times, it is usually made of sheer or semi-translucent fabrics and trimmed with lace or other fine material, and bows.

Did you know that negligees in 1940's and 1970's are collected vintage items today?  Although personally I'm not into collecting. I'd rather wear them, if you know what I mean.

Women, men and children can use the good old pyjamas, an all time favorite in the bedroom. This loose fitting two-piece garments may be made from cotton, silk, satin or synthetic materials.  There are a lot of designs that come with pajamas.  From images of sports, polka dots, stripes, cartoons, animals, balloons.  I remember my nephew loved the pajamas I gave him -- dora and diego!  Well me, I am partial to pastel looking pajamas.

There are also plain colored pajamas and be cool too.
